Verts severely lack interior lighting with only a single h5w domelight next to the check panel. In a quest to improve lighting I installed 2 24" LED strips in the footwells on the vert and am very pleased with the results. I used the timed light control circuit BRN/VI as ground and constant 12V +. On the passenger side, I used the flashlight constant 12v+ and BRN/VI ground behind the speaker. So the lights stay lit for a few seconds after the door shuts at least it does in my M technic, other models may vary. It's easier if you want them on/off with the doors without any delay since the door chime wiring is right there. Overall, its a nice touch and shows off the floormats/pedals.
It's also a good time to check those door switches for functionality.. Mine were broken/corroded and not making good contact. So pull em out and give them a good cleaning with some WD40.

I bought these really cheap on ebay a while back and never got around to installing them until now. Wasn't sure how much I needed for all my cars so I got 4 120cm packs.
120cm is about 48inches IIRC. It was too long so i cut it in half and soldered wires on the end to making two separate 24" pieces but even this was a bit too long. 18in would be about perfect.
The light is much whiter than the picture shows

This last shot is from outside the car.
NOTE: the domelight is not on in these pictures but if it were you couldn't with these LED strips. I plan on changing the h5w bulb to LED so it matches.
These strips are insulated and designed to be used outside of the car. I have seen people use them under the doors/mirrors, etc. so they are durable enough for the interior.
