I installed my 12" Luke box last night and I can agree too that the build quality exceeded my expectations. And the sound is awesome. Can't wait to finish the beauty board and amp bolt down. I love the size as well....

^^^I don't have much to say other than my 10 inch box seems high quality, fit perfect, sounds good, and isn't "that big" in the trunk. Yes it is wide, and tall, but not deep. It is only ~4.5 inches deep from the "top" of the trunk, and extending straight down.

So, I want to clean up my trunk and reclaim some space back there. My current setup is sort of a gigantic mess with the line-level converter, active XO and 22" wide 5-ch amp. So now I am thinking of ridding myself of all of those electronics and buying a compact, cheap 5ch amp and just modding/rebuilding the active filters that it comes with, with higher quality stuff. Or just leaving it alone and letting road noise hide any issues lol.

ANYWAY...Luke, I am sort of torn between your 8" and 10" boxes. The 8" one has appeal for space reasons. About how low in frequency can I go with the 8" box (-3dB)? Obviously that depends somewhat on driver selection, so given my previous question, what is the best bang-for-the-buck driver for the 8" box? What is the best no-cost-limit 8" driver for it? I am not after earth-shattering bass, but I'd definitely like to make sure that drums and such are properly heard in music. The low-profile 10" sub I have baffle-mounted now is nice, but it isn't the cleanest bass since it isn't in a box. I assume that an 8" in your box can probably more than keep up with my baffled 10"? (it is this one).

Since all amps these days are the same foreign-made nonsense, this is the compact amp that I am looking at sticking in there.

Would this amp (4.75" x 7.5" footprint) fit on the side of the 8" enclosure) somewhere? That would be PERFECT!

Sorry to sort of hijack your 10" sale thread on the last day!

Yessir, we have a full kit for that car, both folding and fixed seats. If you do the amp rack and crossover, it can look like this:

The sound is phenomenal, those same shitty speakers you have now can absolutely kick ass with some decent power. They are very well engineered and great quality, this allows them to use as much as 200 watts X 4 RMS, but 50W X 4 RMS is recommended.

The box itself isn't too expensive either and you can add the other stages later, even if the car is DSP you can still use our subwoofer.

    Shoot me an email: sales@germanaudiospecialties.com

    thanks!

    Luke

We are looking to build a nationwide network of installers to refer customers to and we have a LOT of customers in your area already. All we ask is that you do nice clean work and we would be happy to refer to your shop!

If you haven't seen our crossover networks yet (E34, E39 and E46, E53 and E60 coming very soon) they use the stock speakers and wiring, but will handle an honest 100W RMS X4 and sound shockingly good, as in better than most any component kit in the same car. 400V metalized polypropylene caps, heavy gauge air core inductors, first class stuff throughout:

Thanks again for the kind words, that just always makes my day.
