    Alpine Head Unit removal

    Got the trim ring off, anybody know how to get this thing out?

    You could probably get the special slotted keys that stick into the sides of the unit and it just pulls out from there. just my 2c

        Be careful of the center dash area. The little "windows" are very fragile and I broke them removing my stereo after my accident.

            None of the above!

            Alpine decks, for the most part, require no tools other than a ballpoint pen to remove.

            After you remove the trim ring, there are 2 tiny little sliders, one on either side of the deck. They have about 1/4" of vertical travel. Slide the movable part to the middle of the travel and slide your deck out.

            Seriously, if it takes you 5 seconds, you are doing it wrong. It really is that easy.

              Oh yeah...you will see where you could use a ballpoint pen without even removing the trim ring.

                  Listen to Luke (StereoInstaller1). I don't know how the cage looks and hooks the deck in, I was just going by the decks I was familiar with (not Alpine). Best Buy...stay away!

                      ive installed a few alpine decks, ive always used the slotted keys to take them out.

                        it depends on which alpine. the current one requires a key the older model anything release older than 9835, u jst need a pen.
