    Crystal Amps, Subs and speakers

Hey guys, turns out that I am going to be considered to become a new dealer for Crystal Mobile sound. www.crystalmobilesound.com is their site, go check them out and let me know what you think.

If I do become a dealer, I will be willing to do big fat deals for youse guys, but no more group buys. The way things work in my world, it is gonna be easier this way.

      Kickass!

Do you have a price chart?

I've heard great things about Crystal, but I trust you more than any one on the board regarding car audio. I'd probably be down for a sub/amp.

On a side note. I had my system installed "professionally" as I just did not have time.

The Tsunami 75x4 amp which was dead quiet in the cabbie has a slight engine whine in the Land Cruiser. The installer, who was (it turned out) a jerk blames it on the amp's internal ground paths. Why would it suddenly evidence it's defect? I think it has to do with the installer's ground. Before I get involved with taking it apart, Luke what would you look at first?

        Gracias.

Crystal CMP8 subs are widely regarded as one of the best sounding 8" subs available. The rest of the range is also extremely good. No experience with Amps and Components though.

Ian, thanks for the input. those CMP8's do look excellent on paper. Doug is a fanatic about hating vented boxes, so I feel his woofers are best served in sealed. Crystal is more of a SQ product anyway...I am really grooving on the whole lineup. My biggest issue is lack of sensitivity...I like to see somewhere around 90db...these are 10db less. Gonna be power hungry.

Stefan, I would look to the ground on the deck more than anything else. Pop into WalMart and pick up 2 ground loop isolators. Install them at the amp. If they work, I would recommend running a 16 guage wire from the amps ground point to the back of the deck. I have had poor luck with the Tsunami gear, but typically I see the bottom feeder sub amps, not their better stuff.

Ken, PM me your email addy, or call the shop. I have prices for you (or whoever).

The Kevlar coned speaker with the neo tweeter and woofer (SSCS6) look to me like they would be an excellent problem solver in E30 kickpanels. That motor structure is just tiny!

I am pretty hopeful on this line. Anyone wanting info should PM me. I will get more info soon.
