    Hi !
I realize how old this thread is, however this is the only place on the internet where I have the confidence that competent people will be able to answer me.

I’m looking to replace the stock analogical clock from my e30 318i dashboard with a 13 button OBC, however those are very expensive and hard to find where I live, so I’m thinking about building one with an Arduino and an LCD screen. I first need to find the appropriate wiring but do you think that I also need the relay control module to be able to read data from the car ?
Do you think this is achievable ?
I’m currently learning arduino so I don’t have enough knowledge about it to know where to start.
Would you be able to give me some hints ?
    Thanks !!

You can get the speed signal from the green connector at the back of the instrument panel.
You should be able to get the fuel level from the instrument panel too.

Use them to calculate the fuel consumption using a clock module.
