    Wiring a stock premium radio

Hey so when I bought my 1990 325i vert it had a god awful aftermarket radio in it and it was badly installed. It seems the stock amp was also bypassed.
Now I want to put everything back to stock and I got pretty confused with the wiring. Problem is the code message shows even if I have the right code, I tried this with 2 different radios.
So first picture how its wired now

Then three BR/BK wires connected together? What does that do and where are they supposed to be?

Here we have two YL/BK and YL/BR that have been disconnected. So one of these is supposed to go from the HU to the Amp and then back to the speaker right, then I am missing the connection to the speaker.

The blue wires make sense, they go back together and then on the right side I have the connector I need for the speakers.

So I was wondering if the radio check if its connected to speakers before it verifies the code and maybe that's why it doesn't work.
Any help and info to lift the fog of confusion would be appreciated.

OK, so this has been covered about 5 times in the last few months, but lets do it again:

The amp requires 4 positive leads. Yellow are left, blue are right, brown stripes are ground, as are the brown/black wires.

So, at the deck you will have yellow/red (left front) and yellow/black (left rear) blue/red (right front) and blue/black (right rear). Each of these wires should have a ground twisted with it, all 4 just connect to radio ground.

LMK if that doesn't get it for you.

        gl!

For your code message disconnect the battery over night, if not more. The radio self locks and disconnecting for 10min won't help. Needs to be literally 10+ hours. Happened to me and my friend when we wired up a stock radio in his car.

And does the amp require a white power wire from the radio to turn it on? that's what the wiring diagram says but I can't find it

So I'm almost done, everything is wired up and things make sense now. Two things though.

First my left rear speaker doesn't have the wires that go up to it and I am trying to find them. I have YL/BK and YL/BR going to the amp but no YL/BK and YL/BR to plug into the speaker.

Also my radio is still not accepting my code, things I have tried:
-Got two radio's, same model with different codes to make sure the radio is not the problem.
                - Got the codes from the dealership using the VIN of the donor cars
-Left the radio in the car for 60 min while key is in accessory with radio off, retry codes
-Disconnected the battery for 10 hours and tried again.

This is really frustrating, would rather change the subframe bushings again.

If you read the "bypass" thread it might make more sense.

To the amp you will have yellow and blue, but from the amp to the speakers it is black (rears) and Gray (fronts) and both will be twisted pairs.

See the bypass thread for polarity

So everything is finally wired up. Thanks for the help luke.
Just for your information the YL/BK and BL/BK where my rear speaker wires and the black wires from the amp went all the way back to under the dash to a connection where they changed colours back to YL/BK and BL/BK.
Now I just have to figure out the code problem

                      Wiring a stock premium radio

If you can leave it disconnected for more then 10 try that. On my car I had it disconnected for 14+ hours and that's how I finally got mine working. If it's a daily I can see how that would be a problem but seriously worth a shot. Had to do that because of entering the code incorrectly ONE time, being the first time I had the stock headunit hooked up.

Hope that's going to work for you, as it worked for me and my friend (we both entered it wrong the first time ha!)
