    Front Speaker room

I just put in new speakers up front. With the right amount of bass the speaker touches the kicker panel and makes a disgusting rattling noise.

Besides putting the premium bmw speakers in and returning the new ones, what are my options? I've tried putting a little more foam on the back side of the panel but its not enough. I plan on putting more in to see.
All just means to an end.

Some people have spaced the kick panel out a bit to make more room, but it can't move far or it will interfere with the glove box.

The PO removed the speakers I installed in the kickpanels and installed new speakers into the doors. Although I wasn't a fan of him cutting the door panel, I will admit that it sounds much better having the woofer located in that location.

Here is the trick: grab 4 small nuts. Pull the screws that hold the speaker in and put the nut between the head and the speaker, like a washer.

Then, when you put the grille back on there won't be any clearance issues.

You can space the panel about 1/4", should be enough.

For the 4th screw, I use crazy glue to hold the nut to the kickpanel. Its kind of a pain in the butt to get that back in properly, but not that bad.

One of these days I am going to put the glove box on sliders and motorized it, so I can get half a cubic foot on each side...

Do you have any after photos of the door instal? I think I might like to do that. Are there any downsides to doing that?

I did a 6 1/2" build and told my glove box to STFU. I don't wear gloves when driving anyway.
