millionbuy is the cheapest site on the internet, i will take it back if you can find a lower price shipped and everything. Look how cheap their subs are, and there boxes.

I dont know how shipping will affect final price. But I was pricing amps (Mtx 801d for example. miilionbuy sells it for $340. my place sells it for $290.) $50 difference is quite a bit.
      Kicker 12" L7: $280 vs. $163
      Infinity 12" Perfect:$220 vs. $195
Your currently fried subs: $65.95 vs $54.90

I still wish millionbuy carried JL, I'm seriously thinking about getting 2 12w0's, I'm trying to find somewhere to beat $87.90

And what the hell would those sound like with 1400max (probably like 500-600rms ) running to them? Shit, that's what.

            Do some more research! :?

crappy amp, incorrect gain settings, incorrect ohm settings for the amp... any of those factors can contribute to the problem.

Why is there so much bickering?

Anyway. RMS, to peak, or gains really don't have all the much to do with it.

Wattage really blows a woofer, it's THD = total harmonic distortion. You were over driving the amp, this in turn put out way to much THD and you fried the system.

A 2000w speaker can BLOW with 5w driving it with a LOT of THD.

The big problem with a bandpass box is you can't really hear the distortion. If you went with a simple sealed (infinity's like sealed boxes) or a simple ported box. Not only would you get a much more broad range or sound, but it will also be a lot more accurate.

If you over drive it, you can hear the distortion. band pass boxes SUCK for any thing other then BOOM.,

clean amps and clean signals are so important! If you want big bass you need more woofers and more wattage.

My little box with 2 x10 with only 400w blows away so many other BIGGER setups, we made it clean and built the box to the woffers, and used a oscilloscope to tune it for lowest distortion.
