Hello. I got a problem with my dashboard:
My tachometer and fuel consumption meter is not working. Sometimes it does work, but for couple minutes. Sometimes it just get stuck and shows like 3k RPM. Also the fuel gauge works, but sometimes goes straight up as if I had full tank.What causes the problem? and whats the solution?

so I took off my IC, and found theese batteries:





after that, i found theese batteries on ebay and they say they are replacing the ones i'm having now

SI board batteries are failing and the fuel gauge ground is probably loose.

Tighten the 7mm nut behind the fuel gauge and do the temp gauge while you have the cluster out.

You'll have to be really good at soldering to replace those batteries since that SI board has the daughter board which the batteries sit on. I've repaired hundreds of botched jobs from people who try to replace the batteries themselves and end up damaging the circuit traces.

Also those batteries have no tabs on them, so it wont work unless you spot weld them on, which requires specialized equipment.

I bought the correct batteries, with tabs, from batterybob.com. Listen to Gregs///M warning about soldering, if you are not proficient take it to some one that knows how to do it, or just get a remanufactured board from him.
