all i have to say on this is you 2 door guys are so lucky with all the space you have, where you mounted the DAB and the DSP is full of window in my car.
thats one badass setup and i hope i can mimic it somewhat at some point, although without all the dsp dab lmnop things

After finishing in the boot, I turned my attention to mounting the DSP and DAB units.

First I had to make a secure mounting plate. It doesn't look like much in the photo, but there's nearly three days work gone into getting that sorted:



Then the DAB unit went in....



....followed by the Sony DSP unit:



I've started with the wiring, but no pictures just yet.

Question or two-Ian, what brand of sound deadening material is that?

It's Brown Bread.

Now I know what the benefits of sound deadening material are, but what kind of difference does it actually make in our E30's?

Not sure how much difference it will make on the rear bulkhead (firewall) until I fire the system up, but putting it down in the footwells where the front speakers mount makes a big difference to the Mid Bass.
