    power windows stay on

    Hi

Was looking for some possible solutions.

Just bought a 1988 318i e30 and while attempting to problem solve the rear power windows not working I've noticed that the switch lights are always on for all 4 switches and that the front windows work without the key in the ignition.

Is it a problem with the circuit breaker being faulty or something more?

    Appreciate any hints or tips.

I understand that Euro cars are wired that way. Might want to look into that.

yes as mentioned the Euro's/M3's had a comfort relay added under dash near accessories connector that allowed sunroof and windows(switches stay lit) to work with door open key out ,here is a diagram also pictures at this link at bottom of post http://forum.s14power.com/showthread...2257#post92257

Unloader relays K5 and K7. They cut power to some accessories while cranking or when the car is off. K5 deals with the windows; replace it and see if the problem goes away.

Either that or failed starter causing K5 to remain on, or, if equipped with comfort closure, the dome light switch may not be closing properly, so the module doesn't know to shut off
