Central Locking Problem I Cant Figure Out

I need help after hours reading posts online and troubleshooting I cant figure out why my central locking stopped working. I have a Python alarm that was installed by the PO everything was working fine and I was able to unlock the car with the remote up until a couple of weeks ago. I have:

    1. Spliced the red/black wires behind the speaker.
    2. Replaced the CLCU with a brand new one.
    3. Disconnected the rubber boot and cleaned out the connectors with electronics cleaner.

My central locking still does not work! With my multimeter I have confirmed that I am getting power to the Python alarm, but for some reason it looks like I am not getting any power from the red/black wire to the CLCU. I cannot figure out why. Also, my lights don't come on when I open the driver door, but they turn on when I open the passenger door. This is both with the stock relay and George Graves dimmer relay.

I am stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check the CL relay connector for corrosion/separated wires, and fuse #27.

Clean/fix/replace that driver door switch so the alarm sees the door as closed.

Well I made some progress if you can call it that............. Got the lights to come on when I open the driver door by following these instructions: http://www.e30tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45809

Does anyone know why the interior lights wont turn on when wired up like from the factory? I am sure it has something to do with my CL not working? Thanks in advance!

I did put in a brand new door switch and that did not help.

Also, anyone know why the interior lights turn on for a split second when I turn the key in the ignition to on? Would a short somewhere cause this? Any help would be greatly appreciated! This happens when the door switch is wired like from the factory using two wires.

Interior lights get constant power from the fuse box. It's always has 12 volts going to it. The door switch provides a path to ground.

Makes sense, my door switch is not grounding out for some reason. I have looked all over the place and cant figure out where I have a brake in the wire or loose connection. Where do the wires in the door switch end?

At the interior light relay socket.
