I'm looking at getting the DXZ745MP myself, as it has 728 colors to choose from to match the dash lights. Anyone gave good/bad experiences with Clarion???

-edit: just read some good stuff about them in the other threads, so yeah I think i'm going to go with this one. :D

          Dual 24bit DACs

          Get it!

Are you going to use the internal amp, or use external power amplifiers?

The $269 is Canadian dollars, correct?

I've got a clarion, the model below the one in question. I like it, but the random play sucks ass.

I've got the Clarion Pro-Audio DRX9375R. I love it! Sound quality is REALLY good. Copper-chassis. But it has no internal amplifier so I have all external power amps. It skips a little easier than most CD players though... maily due to the fact that the laser needs to be realligned (which is common after 2-3 years of bouncing around in cars).

So over all I'd give Clarion a

I'm going to be using a 75wx4 Premier amp thats been sitting in my room for 2yrs rather than the internal amp. MB Quart Premium components will be replacing the stock speakers soon after. 8)

Niiice. Make sure to get some high quality RCA cables to transfer the signal back to the amp.. it'll make a world of difference.

24bit DACs are not an advantage over 1-bit with 24-bit resolution when used in a car audio environment... its all marketing... 1-bit are inherently more linear in fact and a 24bit requires very carefully matched parts and engineering to perform as well as a 1-bit

there is NO audible difference that you or I will be able to hear from the difference in DAC alone

one reason i prefer 1-bit is they are generally more linear and 24bit can suffer from zero crossing distortion

the only place a 24bit will outperform a 1bit is in higher quality recordings such as SACD as 1bits dont dither well you wont hear it AT ALL on a cd/mp3/wma

so why are 24bit considered better in carsound.... they cost more and sound fancy thats about it

I would definately go for something like the DXZ535, but I REALLY want MP3 playback, so I'd probably end up with something like the DXZ645MP - seems really nice. Clarion is some good stuff - or so I hear from my audio junkie friends.. ;)
