    No Sub Setup

Can anyone offer me any guidance for a setup without a sub? I don't have the funds to add one in now, but I want something that doesn't sound like crap.

My current speakers are blown and I've got a crappy aftermarket head unit. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I've got an '88 vert btw.

Since no one else jumped on this in a week, I will...

If you have not read the sticky at the top of the board for the $500 system, then you should.

The key, if you are that strapped is to buy with the expandability to add a sub later. With the rolling sound level in our cars, you need a sub to get any sound in the low end.

Also, look on craigslist... things like speakers can live long lives, and frequently people are left with a closet of components that they might not have a use for, but are still good enough. My Boston Acoustics 5.25 speakers have been in use since 1998.
