    passenger window being a bitch

So my power windows on the passenger side is being a bitch and a half. Ive noticed that you needed to push down with alot of force on the switch only to raise the window, and sometimes it would just stop regardless and youd have to press the switch down again a few times to get it to go again. Now it just cuts out completely and it takes like 30 tries to get it up. Is this a window motor problem or is the switch just a piece of shit?

It's just the switch and its very common. Replace the switch and all should be fine again.

Cool. Its 95 degress right now and Ive got a 400 mile drive ahead of me so hopefully itll decide to go up if it starts to rain or something. Anyone know if the e36 switches are worth the cash?

If you have an electric sunroof-and you won't be using it-for now you can just swap its switch with the window switch since they are the same until you can get a new one.

No doubt the E36 switches are of a better design, but its not something I would mess with personally.

Most times it is just the switch that needs cleaning, but I have had the window motor cleaned occasionally too, it helps as well.
