Does the E30 blinker stalk return to center after a turn?

Mine doesnt and I dont know if thats because it didnt do that on the E30 or something is broken.

I have a 1990 325is. The blinkers work in both directions, but after a turn they never click back to center and turn off.

If it's the tab on the wheel, you need a new steering wheel. I'm pretty sure the tab that turns it off is part of the wheel itself.

Damn, I just had this one rewrapped. Oh well I can turn it off manually for now maybe I can fix the tab in the wheel.

It's just a piece of plastic that is held in with 2 screws if that's your issue. Simple to replace.

Yea, sure can. Check realoem to make sure it's the same part number for your car, not sure if they are specific to certain models or not.

                Example of one:

Actually, what I've seen is the white, plastic piece on the stalk itself. What happens is, people are removing/installing the steering wheel an do not have the stalk in the center position. With the stalk in the up or down position, the white plastic piece juts out and breaks off when you reinstall the wheel....seen it on multiple stalks too

Well I am replacing my steering wheel with the Mtech II wheel and I bought new stalks since the old ones are closer on the airbag wheel and would be too close on the new one. Lets see if that fixes, if it doesnt I will check the slip ring.

you could just bend the airbag stalks further away. That's all I did when I swapped to a non-airbag

I thought about that but I ended up just getting new ones. My lettering was a bit worn on the old ones anyway so these look nicer.
