Battery charged, then after recharge Inspection light is on. Normal?

My 87 325ic has a remain SI board that is about 4 months old, so I believe its good.

I moved to a different state, so my mom kept the car in her garage and of course let the battery die. She recharged it as I paid a shipper to drive it to me on their flat bed. I started the car and had to set up the OBC (normal), plug in my radio code (normal), but also had to reset the inspection light.

Is the inspection light supposed to come on after the battery died and then recharged?

No because it has it's own power (batteries)...however, some Reman SI boards do away with batteries and use capacitors powered by the car battery. Look to see what kind of SI board you have. The traditional SI board with onboard batteries typically won't die just because the car battery died. Resetting the board of course isn't a big deal, just a nuisance.
