    Wiper Issue

    1985 325e
Today when I went to put my wipers on the intermittent setting I noticed the wipers would get stuck halfway back to the down position. No issue going up, but only down. When I put it on the medium and high setting they worked without an issue. After about 10 minutes on high or medium setting the intermittent setting started to work without issue. I haven't had to diagnose since I was on my way to work, but would this be something as simple as relay? Will check with a known working one later, just wanted some input. TIA!

Check the Philips head ground screw when u take the steering wheel off. It's s ground for the wiper stalk that usually comes loose too

Cool, I'll have a look at that. Haven't got around to checking relay either since it stopped raining so I'll add that to my list of thinks to check.

You should also spray the switch contacts with Deoxit and move the switch back and forth a few times. Corrosion can cause all sorts of silly problems.

Cool. I'll take a look into that once I get the chance. I'm sure its just time for a new relay, too.

Thanks Todd. Changed it out and they are working fine! Relieved I wasn't going to be forced to change the motor out!
