I have a 1987 m20b25 with the 3-pronged (black head) coolant temperature sensor and a 4th relay that sits next to the main, fuel pump, and O2 relays.
From what I've read this is a 'cold start relay' that was retrofitted to some m20s with cold start issues.
My question is where does this relay get signal from. The one note I found is that it get signal from the starter so that it is only activated when the starter is turning over, but I can't find any wiring diagrams to verify.
Can anyone else verify they proper wiring of this relay - 1 black and 1 red terminal.
Thanks!
