Planet Audio AC1800.5 vs Rockford Fosgate R600X5

Basically is it really worth the extra $150 for the Rockford.

I would probably have never even looked at the Planet Audio due to it being cheap in terms of dollars, the whole you get what you pay for thing.

But I have been reading some really great things on here from Luke and others, eventually I will get a Luke box so will I even notice the difference for the extra money of the Rockford or even the Alpine MVR-V500?

Nevermind just went with the Planet Audio, seems to be good enough from the board and reviews and I am not building a B&O system or anything. Cant wait to get it!

      I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Most amps anymore are all made in China, so you are going to get the same quality, regardless of brand. Some amps are even identical under the outside casing.

Unless you are going really high end, it won't make much of a difference.

Bought it, will install next weekend, its pretty big lol! Reminds me of the size of my old Sherwood XAT 300q from back in the day.

Here's my call: the "basic 5 channel" is great. There are some that are better, some that are worse, but they are all close enough, as long as it has the features you need, it's all good.

However, if you are trying to get better, the logical thing is 2 amps. These 2 are the Fosgate 750.1 and the 400.1, with our Classic PCN between them:

I will say this combination is miles and miles ahead of the AC1800.5 sonically. It's louder, much more dynamic, and sounds more "effortless" if you know what I mean.

It's also about two and a half times more dough...so "value" is arguable at best. However, considering that these two can still be had for about $375, shipped, it's still not bad.
