    Circuit board question

I had a long distance friend send me a Circuit Board for free for my 88 325i E30 Cluster....Found out that the Circuit Board i have is a VDO and the one he sent me is a Motometer C.B.
My question is can i use his Motometer Circuit Board in my cluster even though the cluster says VDO.

The FAQ/DIY section is for staff-approved instructional posts only. Please do not ask questions there. If you don't know where to ask your question, post it in General Technical and we'll move it to the appropriate subforum if necessary.

Also, please fix your signature image so it conforms with the forum guidelines. It's far too large.

    Thanks in advance.

Why did he send you just the board?

Yes, VDO and motometer are the two manufacturers of cluster parts. They are completely interchangeable. Here is an outline of interchangeable parts

-All late model parts interchange, VDO or Motometer
-All Early model parts interchange, VDO or MM
-Early model parts will NOT interchange with late model EXCEPT fuel and speedometer gauge.

Sorry for the late reply .but that great news cause i notice the one that was in my car, those 2 screws that hold the cluster were to long for the CB wasn't push in enough and kinda of pinch or broke the circuit..

              this what it looks like..

you can see were the screws pinch the board.
