Temp gauge drops to 0 when driving

Hello. I have a weird issue with my instrument cluster. Every time I drive, the temp gauge jumps to 0 and then back up to where it's supposed to be. The time between these jumps changes with the speed.

This is what I've noticed so far:
    20-30km/h - needle jumps every 10 seconds
    50-60km/h - needle jumps every 5-6 seconds
    etc

I know the problem has to be somewhere in the cluster because I tried putting the temp gauge from this one into my old cluster and it worked fine there (can't use the old one as the tach doesn't work).

    Any suggestions?

Greg - can this not be the brass nut behind the gauge? That usually solve 90% of the issues. No?
