    Keyless Entry/Alarm Setup Options (Factory?)

I want an alarm/keyless entry sytem for my E30, But I want it to have a BMW Remote. As weird as that sounds I dont want some cheesy A/M clear plastic thing hanging off my keys. Does anyone know of a system I can get for our cars that will have a bmw remote (maybe a stock sytem)
Or would the stock system of an E34 5 series work, cuz I love the stock arm sound on their alarms/keyless entry sytems.

Too bad I cant find one with a BMW switchblade HID key, that would be ideal if anyone knows of one lol.

    Thanks in Advance.

The later E34 models were pre wired from the factory for BMW alarms.

This was never the case for the E30, although some were equipped with BMW security/keyless entry systems. Unfortunately, chances are if you find one equpped, the remotes are long gone.

I just purchase this keyless entry system and its tricked out with a switchblade!

The only system I've found that I like is Steller BMW 45 Keyless Entry/Alarm. It's expensive at $200, but I imagine it'd be a lot cheaper than retrofitting something from the E34. I'm with you and that I'd like to have a BMW original keyless entry system, but there isn't one.

The nice thing about the Steller is that it double locks your doors, which is something I haven't seen on any other keyless entry system. Plus the key fob is very low-key looking. BavAuto is the only place that carries it; the part number is "BMW 45K" since you can't link to any BavAuto pages.

I have a keyless BMW installed alarm/central locking system on my 91 325i that I would like to remove. Anyone have experience removing this system without disabling the ignition? I've tried several different ways with the same result. This query was unanswered on our Puget Sound Region BMWCCA BB. Thanks!

Hey 325iCabrio, I have a 325i Cabrio as well and I keep looking at the same alarm system, did you install it yet? How was it and did you do a write up of sorts? Let me know, I read the very long post on the $30 dollar keless entry but this is the one I would like.

            Thanks

I looked at that link back when u posted it, love the system, want to go with it in the spring when the car is back out. Only thing is I want an alarm on the car also, anyone know if this keyless setup can have an alarm setup with it? or if that is unheard of / alot of work probably.

I want those nice switchblade keys lol, too bad this system is only a keyless not an alarm also.

No actually for $149 they have a full alarm that goes with it, look at the site I linked and look at their other samples, and it seems to be exclusive for BMW.

Thanks, now who's going to be the first to buy it???

Last night I was thinking of what people said about the remote braking etc. I like it not because I owned a Jetta before but it seems trick, but maybe if I buy a system supported by people in the forum (Luke) then I get better than factory support?!?

But it does look good and I'm getting tired of going to the trunk of my vert to open/lock it up.

So with the mild winter maybe it's time to jump in.

once i get my e30 ill wont hestitate in the next month to buy the alarm. I live in Mira Mesa (san diego) and thats what a car needs in this order:

                      1) Alarm
                      2) working condition
                      3) Wheels.

My fav is Scytek I like the Astra 4000 because it is cheap and good. Remote start, keyless, alarm, easy install, great range (1/4 mile or so), etc. I do about 15 of these a month (on a slow month) and have been impresssed by the reliability. They have been OEMing everyone else's alarms for 24 years, doing retail for 2 years.

R3V price is about $80, shipped.

Scytek makes a doo-dad that makes a keyless entry into a full alarm. It is about $60 shipped. Siren, impact sensor...armed by the "lock" signal, disamed by "unlock".

I am actaully taking a break from installing a Galaxy 500 RS-2W in an '03 SportTrak Expidition right now!

I have heard nothing but complaints from those Ebay "flip key" alarms, except for James C's (I think it was James).

Anyway, GL on the hunt for alarm stuff. If you need tech help, call me if ya wanna.

Looking at that combo, I really like the features, and the remotes don't look stupid like some of them out there. The only question I have, Luke, is whether they support double locking? Since I have a cabrio, that's important.

Aerton, I haven't had the money to get that keyless entry system. I've been using money to fix other things that are more important on my car. But if that Astra 4000 has double-locking, and it's about $100, I'll buy it. That's a damn good deal for keyless entry, alarm, and remote start.

Double lock is something I have never seen on any aftermarket alarm. I assume you are attempting to deadbolt? I do not know I would even want to...too much risk of "issues" down the road, IMHO.
