    I agree here after today.

    I paid $20 for a new mast because when our units go bad its usually not that whole thing. It is OEM repacement mast, looks good and works great.

    And ALL of the static and motor noise is gone.

          I think the motor is busted plus the mast is broken and the rubber grommet disintegrated. I don't want nor I want to spend money on this POS.

            I took out my oem antenna and i am going to buy the M3 rep antenna from bav-auto for $60. i believe it comes with the extension wire so i can run it to the front of the car, imo it looks a lot better than the oem one and isnt too expensive, but i havent decided yet if im going to mount it in the front or the back of the roof like an e46.

                Yeah it does involve drilling the roof but i have no headliner at the time so i dont have worry about ripping that and ill just make sure i use a good sealant on the base of the new antenna. i just think it looks a lot more symetrical having it in the center of the car rather than one side, but hey thats just my opinion.
