think i have come up with a solution that gets bass into the cabin and also preserves the stock interior look, just need stereoinstallers opinion on the following:
how well does the sound wave travel through foam and leather?
point being that since the cabrios have two walls between the cabin and trunk, i was thinking of building a single 10 inch sealed box, with a high output subwoofer like a type x, or solobaric. biulding it as low and narrow as possible ( say 11 x 11 ) maybe .8ft2 . wall on the trunk gets cut 11 x 11. box gets pushed through that hole onto the cabin wall, where the cabin wall will have a 10 inch round hole cut. Box will be sealed against the cabin wall. Output would come straight through the seat. how would this work?
also would the box work any better shooting through the side of the seat with less foam? because it would be more beneficial to the car to have it in the middle where the foam is greater, but will still have plenty of both walls intact on both sides.
    thanks for ur help.

There's not enough height for 11" unless she goes in a slant.

See if you can measure by using this pic as reference, there's no more room up nor down from where the holes are...

          PJ, doooo eeeeeet!

Seriously, it will work fine. My plan was to do a brace around the box opening out of angle iron, welded in place.

would i get more output placing the sub on the side like fporro? being that theres less foam to travel through or would the center be more or less the same?

as far as 11 inches, i can sqeeze it in there if i lose some of the carpeting . i previously built a 10" high box, where the 10" sub overlapped the outside of the box by about 1/2 an inch, and it fit there with the carpeting
