I know you need 8", but here are some high capacity 10" sliders. might be worth a try. they're cheap enough.

Fold down rear seat? You mean an armrest rear seat? I have one of those in my garage. Does it matter that much? The only fold down rear seats I know of that even remotely fit are e36, but the back is higher requiring a different rear deck.Leave a comment:

Yeah...I went looking for drawer sliders today. I need nice ball bearing 8" sliders...shortest I could find were 14".
Fuck.
Yes it IS going on sliders under your drivers seat, whether you like it or not!
Runner said so.
Now to find you a fold down rear seat.

Ready for some pics? Here we go:
Making room for the Exile XP65 Mid:

Making sure the mid fits:

Built a box that contours to the ski boot hole and ribs in the trunk, note that the back of the box has a step in it to clear the woofer:

Another angle: (note that the woofer is 1.5" recessed)

Here is how the amps look installed:

Crossovers in the left rear:
Woofer installed...see if you can spot the 1/4" foam used as a gasket:

Reupholstered rear deck with speaker holes filled:

OK guys, this thing sound fucking amazing.
Come hear it!
We went with an Exile "Shift" series 12" SVC in 1.2 cu.ft.
A 4 channel Titanium Power runs the Exile XP6.5 components in the stock front locations in tri-amp, soon to be usning an AudioControl EQ-X as crossover/EQ while a Titanium Power 2 channel runs the bass in mono.
No rear speakers, of course...this is an E30.
Pics and other opinions to come soon.

Progress is slow, Luke carpeted the rear deck in an amazing feat of quick work. We ran into an issue because I had the bright idea of swapping in my early model carpet (sans padding), and had to pull floor padding out of a wet parts car. Everything should be ready by the meet on the 22nd.Leave a comment:
