I know you need 8", but here are some high capacity 10" sliders. might be worth a try. they're cheap enough.

McMaster-Carr is the complete source for your plant with over 595,000 products. 98% of products ordered ship from stock and deliver same or next day.

Part number 11965A131. They are 12" overall with an 8" travel length.

What would be cool is have a push-to-open catch holding the slide, then hook up a gas strut that would push it out from under the seat. So you would push to release it, then it would slide out on it's own.

I was actually just going to use an old power antenna motor/mast with a power window switch to slide it in/out.

dear god, can't we do anything simple? Like, maybe mounting the trunk mount x-over in the TRUNK?

              i forgot a link...

I've been thinking about motorizing my amp rack with an actuator, but I realized, I wont need access to my amps once the gains are set. So fuck it.

I just cutoff the upper hooks holding the seat on. The seat is wide, so you can't fold it up and down (at least in my 4 door, it hits the armests). Also, with my seats reclines back the top of the backseat will hit. But seats up and rear doors open I can fold my backseat down, and leave it down if I wanted to (the door armrests sit in the pocket for your wheelwells and hold the seat down).

Dave, we cheated wildly. We used carpet kickpanels from an '85 (I believe) ETA so we had clearance for the glovebox.

Getting the XP65s in was not all that tough.

For future reference Rollon makes some very good slides. It might be overkill on a budget build but they make slides to suit every budget and load requirement. www.Rollon.com Plus I am a distributor for them.

I'd go to a 2 way from a three way most likely but i haven't been able to tune the 3 ways worth a damn anyway.

I spent some time poking around in my late model project car. It would not be all that tough to do door mount speakers, up near the top of the door.

Might have worse pathlength issues, but at least you could hear the damn things, and get some midbass!

Holy hell I need this guy's help with the subwoofer install! I swear this site owns any other E30 board because of all the locals.

You sell your services/help, StereoInstaller? Or trade for beer? :)
