That place sure did a quality work on his stereo.... almost every wire was 'extended' twice with the crimp connectors, so he had 2x as many as you really need lol. There was also a thick, 8 or 12awg wire wired as a remote turn on for the amp , talk about overkill :)

I've dealt with ARS and Paradyme myself also, was never a big fan of ARS attitude compared to Paradyme though....

Deff. could use a different hu with a dedicated sub pre-out.

I don't know if Paradyme deals with Kenwood, but you might give them a shot. I know for sure 100 dollars alone is far too much to spend on an aging deck when you can get that Panasonic deck Luke was touting a while back. I actually threw a refurb one (120 shipped) in my fianceƩ's E36 and she likes it a lot. No problems to speak of, and it looks like a dead-on color match.
Yea I guess i'm screwed seeing as how i already spent the $47 on that damn ribbon cable, and refuse to pay 100+ for the ARS fee. My new issue is that if I do get a new HU, it kind of has to be kenwood because my disc changer is kenwood also and wont connect with other brands. Yea, matcing is kind of inportant too. And as Jean said I need one with a sub pre out this time. Maybe Luke has an idea on what to get. The one thing I liked about mine folding up when the car is off is that it doesnt look like a stereo just sitting in there, I figure it might be more theft deterrent, maybe not though. i also hate taking a face plate on and off all the time too. Oh well looks like i have some research to do. Thanks for the help and let me know if you have any ideas.

BTW Jean if you are thinking of doing that OBC swap anytime soon I have one in decent shape you can have. You would only need the wiring and a code plug. let me know if you want it.
