I have a similar problem.
My left front turn signal isn't connected so I've had the quick flashing left signal for a while. When I installed my euro elips, all of a sudden the turn signal stopped working. It still clicks fast and blinks in the cabin, but no blinking in the back. Lightbulb looks fine but I'm going to replace it anyhow. Haven't checked fuses will tonight. Just discovered this a couple days ago.1991 BMW E30 318i sedan
