but I brought all my stero equipment from My m-tech car back to the states. And my amp that was in the car is a Pioneer GM-1200 70w+70w unit bridgeable. Is this a halfway decent amp and where should I draw power por it in the trunk? I want to make it switch on when the stero comes on.
Ok I never post here

You'll have to run a remote turn on wire from the back of your head-unit.Originally posted by M-technik-3but I brought all my stero equipment from My m-tech car back to the states. Since we're lucky and the batterys are in the trunk, just get an amp power kit with inline fuse and connect it dirrectly to the battery.
btw,
you going to come up this week for the tires?Below the radar... -

Most of the time, amps are turned on using a seperate wire from the head unit. If you have a stock head unit, or for whatever reason dont want to run a wire, I dont see why you couldnt use one of the wires for the power antenna, since that is only powered when the radio is on...BEERTECH

I think Chris's idea about a remote switch is correct, then with a large gauge wire for power feed from battery to amp itself. I have an Alpine CDA 5453 headunit/amp/cd. It's nice as it has rca outputs and inputs which the amp does also. It shouldn't take more than a half hour to and hour to wire it.Originally posted by RobMost of the time, amps are turned on using a seperate wire from the head unit.
