I used to have some Image Dynamics CX5s in the front stock locations and they fit just fine with a 2.3" mounting depth. There was room to spare behind them... half in or so I'd guess.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

If you're using coaxils it's not the depth you need to worry about, it's if the kick panel will fit over the tweeter. As Ken said take a speaker out (passenger is easier) and measure it. I'm sure most 5.25 components will fit, however I can say the same for coaxils.

Yeah, you'll run into problems trying to fit certain coaxials down there.Originally posted by Robmy 5.25 excelons wont fit with the kick panel on the drivers side, the tweeter is to tall
But as far as raw 5.25" drivers, you shouldn't have a problem fitting any down there.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

i just got my focals, they are about 2.3 or so inch mounting depth. My question is do you recommend using the stock kick panels to cover them, or am i better of modifying it to fit the grills. I am pretty sure these grills will render the glovebox and hood latch useless. anyone?....

Are you able to fit the 6.5"s in the stock location? If so, just remove all of the crap off of the back of the plastic kickpanel covers and use those.Originally posted by DrMcDavei just got my focals, they are about 2.3 or so inch mounting depth. It'd probably be ok to mount the 6.5" midbass speakers in the stock locations because bass is omnidirectional. But you'll probably want to make a little pod enclosure in your door for the 4" midrange (as it will be playing most of the frequencies).
PM or IM me and I can help you figure it out.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are.Comment

yeah the 6.5 will fit, or it seems as though they will. I just have to make new mounting points for them. I am going to make a small door pod out of the map pockets and fiberglass to house the 4 inch speaker, and probably put the crossover in there as well.
ken i'll hit u up on IM when i get a chance, i need to order the RCA wires yet anyway so i have some time to plan.
