to the OP, that box in the rear window idea is pretty terrible. just cut some sheet metal underneath the rear shelf and mount them on the shelf itself.

This is what I made to mount subwoofers to the rear, You could do the same only with 5.25 coaxial speakers

though its an idea, I would scrap it. Your blocking your rear window. Advertising that there is after market speakers. And you will over power your fronts in which when building a system you want your stage in front of you like if you were at a show. I do not even run rear speakers other than a sub that is in the trunk. Not one has ever complained that my car sounded like crap and or was not loud enough. Luke is pretty talented and could lead you better than I. There are many that have posted their setups just dig them up and check them out. Mine included.
I will give you an A for effort for trying something new. But would fail you if you went with that design.
Good luck!
Edit, pull your back panel and refinish it. If you want rear speakers then put your ports in but recover to hide the holes. Run some mesh on top of the holes and under the new carpet that way the heat will not allow the new carpet to sink in and look like there is a port there!Last edited by Vedubin01; 06-23-2008, 09:21 PM.
