Best sub box for my ic using 2 Orion MTX3 10" drivers

I want to maximize my available space/spl what type of box do you guys recommend? I found a guy here that will build whatever I want for 450 pesos (about 40 bucks)!

I have a Kenwood eXcelon 600 watt amp I am running it bridged to the 2 drivers, Running off an eXcelon headunit from the non fading output, currently it's in a bandpass box from my 300ZX that is taking up all the space under my top storage space.

So what should I have him make?

    Thanks

Measure the space you have to work with, and have him build a sealed box that will fit in the smallest space possible, adhering to the sub specs for volume of course.

I'd recommend a ported box. It'll be a little larger, but if you/he builds it correctly your frequency-response at low frequencies (below 50Hz) will be far superior to a sealed box.

Right now it's in there with a ported box from my 300ZX. It was too big to go under the shelf created by where the top stores so I pulled out the old craftsman circular saw & cut the bottom off. Now it has 1/2 sized ports & the bottom isn't carpeted, it fits & sounds fine but is taking up over 1/2 the trunk. I really would like to have more trunk. I am kicking myself because I had a perfect ported dual 10" box I gave to Rward325, he didn't like it but we couldn't find it when I was in L.A. in May :( bummer.

I agree, I have a sealed box and I'm very please with it.

Am I the only one who has yet to hear a ported box that sounds as good as a sealed one? I much prefer the deeper and sharper sound.

Maybe you've heard a bunch of shitty ones?

A properly made ported box sounds better IMO.

Word. They have much better frequency response at lower frequencies. Nearly all, if not all, SQ competition vehicles have tuned ported boxes.
