    My proposed trunk install.

I've been playing around with different ideas for awhile, and I have finally combined ideas down into something I like.

Bass machine will be a single JL 10W3v2 with dual 4OHM voice coils, bridged to a 2OHM load.

Power will come from a JL 250/1 monoblock amp.

Here is what the box will look like. Port design isn't final. I may very much end up with 2 ports to tune the box properly.

False panel will cover the box, and whatnot. Somewhere to the right of the sub will be a cutout for the amp, but I haven't decided just where quite yet.

The silver section will be a fiberglass structured baffle plate. Fully contoured and painted Lachssilver.

I started on the baffle plate setup this evening, tomorrow I will start to shape it. Right now I just have the MDF skeleton formed.

So yeaaaah, thoughts? Gotta have myself a little bling in the e30 :)

Custom made Shitrocks? What other kind of shitrocks are there?

Jordan, I am gonna bring you some Areoports monday. They are a PITA in 4" due to the fucktards making them not fit any known standard tubing.

You can handle that though...call Manny at JL and ask him what to do aboot your porting.

ps...call me friday or stop in saturday.

Looks good. volume? what are you going to tune it to? What is the resonant frequency of an e30? :P

Aeroports? We don't need no stinkin aeroports!
PVC pipe + torch + creative bending with a shirt on your hands = aeroport!

Looks good, But how thick are you planning on making the fiberglass?
Also with the port, a rectangular port = less port noise = cleaner sound. Not sure if you're worried about that or not but just a tip.

Right now I have no rear fill, and do not plan to. The 4 front interior speakers are perfectly happy being powered off my Alpine deck for the time being.

The fiberglass will be at least 3/8 to 1/2 in thick.

Call me ignorant but what is an aeroport besides where you land aeroplanes? No joke I don't know.

That Box is going to be badass! & really nice choice of components!

It's a port in a subwoofer made in a way to reduce undesireable resonances.

The volume of the box will be between 1.5 and 1.75 cu. ft. Port(s) will be tuned to somewhere around 33Hz.

I put 350w RMS to my 10w3v2, same setup as you, but a 4 ohm load (dual 2 ohm in series)
It handled the extra oomph quite well.
I've got a question about boxes, which hits more quickly and punchy, a sealed box or a ported one? I'm not into long bass loud noises type stuff, just really fast and strong that can keep up with double bass drummers

that is dependant upon internal volume and port tunning (if it is ported)
it could go either way with either box

                            (generally)
A sealed enclosure is more punchy with less low end response (good for rock) A ported enclosure is the best all-around, and bandpass is extra heavy low end response. But your driver has to be able to work in the enclosure type you want.
