    C33 + Peripheral iPod adapter = awesome

Just got done installing this sucker a little while ago. Little bit of a pain since I decided to cut the CD changer cable down to about 3 feet long so it would fit behind the dash. Then all I had to do was connect the little 3 pin power supply (and iBus wire) to the radio harness. Easy peasy. I had a little trouble with getting it to accept everything and actually play the iPod. From what I am doing, you have to turn on the radio, then the iPod. Weird.
The only thing I don't like about it, is that the iPod cable is literally 25 ft long. Why? Is someone planning on running it around their car a couple of times and then running it into the cabin? I just coiled it up and zip-tied it out of the way.

I will NEVER use one of those shitty FM transmitters ever again. There is so much of a difference. I was honestly surprised at how much of a difference there was. The good thing about the Peripheral is that you can still use the clicker wheel on the iPod to navigate and change songs/play lists.

Next on the to-do list is get myself a set of A/D/S front components, A/D/S amp, and a decent sounding 10" sub.

I am right now in the middle of installing 2 ADS amps (PQ20's), 2 sets of ADS speakers (320Is, 300Is) and one of my boxes with an Exile 12 in James' car (yes, the MTech1 car)

I will take my Exile stuff over any old ADS stuff any day. Better sound, cheaper, cleaner, better power handling, WAY better detail and it actually FITS, unlike this stuff which is making me work for hours and hours just to install the rear speakers, the fronts are gonna be 10X tougher.

Fuck the old school. Todays shit is better, any time, even "made in chinee"

    Closing SOON!

I have an Eclipse CD5000 or something like that with the ipod adapter thing and I love it. Controlling the ipod through the deck is what I like. Just toss it in the glove box and play with the deck controls.

So with the one you have you still have to play it with the ipod, or can you control it with the deck?

Pierced, glad to hear you made it work. Post up some pictures of the rear of the unit when you get a chance, I'm so looking forward to doing this myself.

          Congrats.

If it wasn't so much of a bitch to put in with all the damn cables, I would gladly pull it back out to take pictures for you. I'll make a MS paint diagram for you though.

Sorry. You can do both actually. I like to just use the iPod control since the iPod is sitting right above the ashtray in the center console.

There we go. On the C33 radio, the iBus connection is on pin 7 on the radio. The black cable that goes between the radio and the adapter is the CD changer cable. If there is anything else I can help you with, let me know.

The adapter came with the Peripheral interface. The adapter is the only part of the kit that is vehicle/radio specific. The interface itself is pretty much, from what I can tell, used in all of the kits they sell. There are some dip switches on the side of the box that you have to flip to tell it what vehicle/radio/make you are using.

Hot, I may hit you up sometime soon for most of the parts the OP used. This sounds like a badass DIY upgrade.

OP, did I understand you correctly, you can control the iPod through the head unit?
