Shhh, I'll take pics when I reinstall. I'm gonna be redoing some of the wiring in my car shortly, so i'll redo it more pretty.

also, just twisting them together with your finger and wrapping electrical tape over them isn't a very good way to do it ;). It's also a good way to have it stop working randomly. I don't see any reason to do it in the trunk. Most modules will fit nicely under the dash.

Also if you're just guessing what wires to be connecting, you're doing something wrong.

Me too. Stereoinstaller said in a different thread that soldering isn't good, but I've never had any problems.

Am I missing something, or does r3v NOT have color codes for the wires up or something? I found mine on the12volt.com. Might be nice to have here.

Its somewhere, you have to look real deep for it though.

It sounds like it's not getting power, though. Unless the people who made that thing are retarded, red should be the power. If you hooked it up to the red wire and it still doesn't work, you can come over here and I can solder it for you (assuming you have no means of soldering it). You gotta at least get power to it until you can see if the rest is working ;)

I soldered my trunk mount system three years ago and have had no problems to date. Best $30 I ever spent.

Apparently my crimpers aren't as good as my soldering iron. I've had a couple crimps go bad. Could you suggest a pair? It's certainly more convenient.

Luke (StereoInstaller1) swears by the Channel Lock crimpers. He sent me an alarm prewired and used his channel locks on the crimp connections, they're the strongest crimps I've ever seen.

I'm using Channel locks as well, the Kleins are popular too (more expensive though).
