So even though they're technically subs, don't bother with a capacitor for the 6.5's? I obviously don't expect them to dim my lights like when i had 4 10's, but would still like to avoid any drain when it hits.
And where are you guys running the RCA? On top or on side of the tunnel?
Sounds good about the speakers. Like I said, I want to get rid of them.
Sub is a subjective term... they're midbass drivers. You wont need an external cap.

I have some kickass CDT 6.5" components that I'll sell you really cheap. PM me if you want to work something out.
I'd get at least 6 meter RCA cables (assuming your amp is in the trunk). If you get a set of 4-channel ones that are in the same shielding case, it makes running it a lot easier.

My Stereo Build
Well, seeing as I haven't installed a stereo system in one of my cars since high school, what better car to get reaquainted with? I used to be all into the car stereo scene back then, but got sidetracked and haven't touched an amp or subs in 9 years.
The build will start out slow, utilizing the stock front preimium speakers, but those will eventually get swapped out as well.
Got the old skool Alpine gear from vodomagoo, along with some other recommendations. Thanks Andrew.
Plan is as follows:
-Alpine 7618 Tape deck w/CD changer (purchased)
-Alpine 3681 digital time/frequency processor (purchased)
-Alpine 3402 7 band parametric equalizer (purchased)
-Elemental Designs NINe.4 Amplifier (purchased)
-(2) Elemental Designs e3.6 6.5" Subs (purchased)
Still need:
-.5 to 1 farad capacitor w/digital readout (taking recommendations)
-Front Components, Infinity Reference 6.5's probably
-RCA's and speaker wire
The 6.5" subs will be replacing the rear deck speakers. There will be some cutting involved, but not much. Mounting depth is only 3.5" so we're looking at a box only ~4" tall. I'm hoping to make the sealed enclosure so that i'll have 2" protruding down past the metal decklid, and a 2" rise above. They are Dual 4ohm voice coils, so i'll be running the #3 and #4 channels of the amp @2 ohms, getting 100 watts to each sub.
Hopefully, the stock front premiums can handle 65w each until I upgrade to the shallow Infinity Reference 6.5" components.
This and next weeks project is to remove interior, clean, lay down poor-mans dynamat (peel'n'seal), run the cables, and cut the rear decklid to accomodate the boxes.
Questions I have for now.
-What RCA's to get and what length? Want to purchase these like yesterday.
-Capacitor recommendation? ( should i even bother??????)
