convertible motor/stereo speaker help

I just picked up a 91 325i drop top. the motor to put the top down doesnt work. i was messing with some of the wires seeing if everything was plugged in and heard the motor spin JUST A LITLE. any way to truley test to see if the motor works? also in the trunk there is a big Chip or circut board just hanging what is this?


now on to the inside speakers. only the front door panal speakers work.
i have a pioner head unit and all the speakers are connected. But stil wont go on. any help?

the motors probably work, but you need to sync up all the microswitches.
