    Hardtop rubber seal fix

Hey! My hardtop leaks at the front driver corner because it seems that the lip on the rubber seal is torn and I wanted to take care of that.

Here's what it should look like:

These seals are NLA, so I have two options: 1) Try to build back the current torn lip with polyurethane somehow, or 2) Swap the old seal from another hardtop I have without the tear.

Here are my questions: What would be the best route to rebuild something so intricate as a small lip out of polyurethane? Will the repair last? Or if I was to swap the undamaged seal off the overall worse condition hardtop, do I risk tearing it? Are there any tricks to getting it off? I have found absolutely zero write-ups on this.

Thanks for any advice or pointers! :)

you can sometimes fix a ripped seal with rtv silicone. that may be asking a bit much of it though. the only real fix is replacement. wonder if there is going to be an aftermarket mfgr start to make these.

Someone needs to build an aftermarket hardtop and the seal to go with it.

there no good way to build up seal where none exists. You can try RTV and it might last a little while, but I’m afraid you have a fair-weather car, now.

I guess my only option is to try to remove the seal from my worse hardtop then and swap it over to the good hardtop. Ever heard of people successfully doing this? Tips and tricks appreciated as I very much fear ripping them.
