I replaced all my window seals, inner, outer and the vertical seals. Stops the windows from rattling when the top is down at speed. They are only available from BMW, of course, but ordering them from a place like Pelican can save money over what the dealers (especially around here in the Bay Area) will charge you. I wouldnt bother with seals from a parts car as they are bound to be in the same shape as what you are replacing.
When you take the door panels and the rear panels out, you'll see how the inner seals mount. For the outer seals, you'll see a series of clips that have a barb in the center of them, with a pick, bend this barb back slightly and the entire seal and outer trim will come loose from the door. Then replace the seals and reinstall the trim, you may want to remove the side mirrors as the trim gets thin under them and easily bent. It's not a difficult job, just a bit time consuming.

Seems to me the clips come off with the seal and trim and I remove them on the bench. The dealers all seem to have multiple pricing levels and markup from MSR so it helps to get on friendly terms with your parts guy. I text my orders in and the horizontal seals were about $20@ and the vertical one was $60.Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch.
