It possible to make forums for all variations of E30s, but the IC is more unique than an IS-ES-ETC....

Just an update, here is the other thread now complete with a poll so if you chimed in here, be sure to vote YES if you feel a cabrio section would be a welcome addition.

Support from me for a vert section.

I picked up a 1990 325ic this week and have many questions.

    Thanks!

Bronzit is the best color for an eta car. It will be easier to find a buyer at a lower price and no ones likes the e30 tax so maybe don't throw on a new top? Also you will have to get the interior completely sorted before asking anything high.

Not quite sure what the deal is with all the bronzit haters on here. I really like the color myself! My wife drove a bronzit super eta for several years. I was actually debating debating fixing it up as my DD when I came across the vert I ended up buying.

I would definitely get the new top. Even if you decide to get rid of it you shouldn't have too much trouble selling it for at least what you have in it.

Thanks JwhIII. My car has the triple whammy - automatic, bronzit, and convertible.
Despite that, it gets more attention than any car I've ever owned.
Interior is in very good shape but the top of the back seat does need to be redone.
Miles and maintenance are all documented and everything is as original as possible.

Sounds like I should just do the top - I see beater sedans with 250k miles going for $3000 so I think this one has to be worth a good bit more when I'm ready to sell.

danix, I purchased my '92 vert last January. Mileage was 86k and it had a 5 speed swap. Car was completely stock, pristine interior and had a brand new top and manual top conversion. I paid well north of your estimated $4.5K - $5K. From what I've seen manual transmission verts and the last couple of model years with plastic bumpers seem to command a premium. Assuming the interior is in good shape (especially top of back seat) and mileage can be documented I would think with a new top $5k would be a pretty good price. If it's a manual possibly even more.

I support adding an ic discussion section, but will note that a lot of the other bits are the same as any E30 and we have sections for those.

This seems like a good crew to ask a value question.
My vert is a 1988, with just over 90k miles. Before me, it was always in one family (grandma, her daughter, then the granddaughter). This also explains why it is Bronzit :)

I've revitalized the mechanicals (engine, suspension, brakes), drivers seat, and now it needs a top.

My gut says that the car is worth $3000 as it sits, and maybe $4500-5000 with a new top. If I'm right, there's no reason to avoid getting the top which is going to run $1400 with straps.

Everything works except a/c (probably too expensive to justify repair), small oil leak I think is the pan which I am going to fix, and a persistent steering rack leak even though it's a ZF rebuilt (leak started after I switched from Pentosin to the ATF it's supposed to have, wondering if that was a mistake).

Anyway - would love to know what you think the values are since I rarely ever see a car with this low miles.

Who owns a full 771 package M-Tech 2 car on the factory suspension? I have some questions about the suspension setup, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Man I wish we had a vert section ;)

I'm trying to revitalize my rubber with that gummi pflege stuff, but I did have to spend $7 on a strip to make the front seal because forget the hundreds they wanted for the real front main seal.

Also bump. Would like to see an ic page happen!

It does, but these cars in general cost $$. Well TBH all my cars are always asking for $$ all the time.
