I believe its a 11 mm socket. Turn it 90 degrees. Lift straight up

It is indeed an 11mm socket. Just keep in mind the two sides turn in opposite directions. Yes. to remove the hard top and leave that pin attached to the body means they unscrewed the star ring that's secures the pin to the hardtop. That ring comes as part of the pin assembly (über $$$) so if they are missing let me know. Right on man, thanks the advice. He'll be here tonight after dinner so hopefully it all works out. Any other tips on how to get it all out/installed?
