Yes, a moonroof. I thought I saw one somewhere but was unsuccessful in a search.

Not really too difficult for a sunroof, there are plenty of remade kits online where you just order by dimensions.

I like the sound of this idea. I may have to do it after the summer.

Defiantly saw it somewhere on Google. It was a screen shot someone shared to a eBay listing back in like 2009 or so. I'm sure someone has the screenshot on there desktop here.

Edit: A 15 second Google search lead me to this:

Weismann e30 tops have options of moonroofs I think. Weismann tops do not go with the lines of the e30 IMO.

As is mine, I was just saying that the one you saw with the moonroof was most likely a Weismann.

I haven't actually seen one. Was just wondering if someone had done it before.

Yes, as stated above, there was indeed a very rare oem hardtop that came with a moon roof. If you can find one, that would be really awesome.

Now with that said......if you hack up your incredibly rare oem hardtop by installing an aftermarket moonroof, you are....well...no offense.......incredibly stupid. Aftermarket moonroofs are shit. Complete crap!!!! The foam seal will be leaking water after a few short years.

the moon roof on a factory 2 door hardtop or sedan is recessed and has channels that funnel water down through the c pilars and out of the body. the only way an after market roof can keep out water is with a foam seal. these products are made in china and of cheap materials.

this thread reminds me of this older friend of mine that had a 318is slick top. he decided he wanted a moon roof in his car and went to one of those stupid auto customizing shops to get an aftermarket roof installed. i just laughed and shook my head. a couple years later he was so disgusted with his poor decision making, he sold the car.

If you actually do this, I promise that you will regret it. However it's your car, your top, and your money. I suppose it's a free country, so you are free to do as you please.....there is no way in hell i would do this to my hard top.
