Seems like a good price but does anyone know anything about the manufacturer, Stabilus?
That's what you want and Stabilus is OEM quality. These tonneau cover shocks are like seat shocks, worth their weight in gold. If you have a manual top, get'em.

Stabilus is the oem.. etc. They're good. I think mine were 30 each.

the tonneau cover has two shocks which hold it up. So once you buy two of those you're set.

Then the convertible top itself (manuals only) has two more shorter shocks which help in lifting the top. These shocks are found within the scissor lift part of the folding top assembly. Open your top halfway and fold the rear window part upward so you can look down inside the lift assembly. You should see the bolts which hold the top to the car and then if you look a bit more forward you'll see the shocks. There's one on each side and each fits into a special cylindrical holder. You have to buy new holders too. There are some circlips holding these in and they're a pain to get out. The part numbers for everything are in my post above

And then after that there's also the shock(s) which hold up the trunk. Early cars have one, and some late cars have two.
I guess the problem I had is because mine is a manual top convert from the power top...most likely I will need to wield some support because I can fit the strut...

My top is a late model power top which was fitted to an early car with a manual top. So it's effectively the same thing as yours. Chances are your top has the mounts for everything but the shocks themselves are missing. In either case they're not super necessary. I'd focus on the tonneau shocks and worry about the others later

All I want are the shocks for tonneau cover, and I think I need to weld a mounting point for the shocks...I don't think I need the shocks for the top itself...
