Top's lid handle same as right side door handle's

    Aloha,

Right side door and folding top's handle are same,
to make it work you'll have to re-use plastic black caps and cylinder that cables attach to ...

    - Separate cylinder.
    - Attach lower cable to lower cylinder end and cap it.
    - Insert handle in cars cavity and attach capped cylinder to handle.
    - Re-attach top cylinder to lower unit.
    - Insert cable to top cylinder, pull handle towards you and cap it.

Done this fix on 3 cabriolets so far and if you're a clut such as I then place a rag under it all. ;)

    Cheers,
    Frank

Where did you get those caps for the cable bushing?! Those would have saved me so much time...

This job is a total pain if you don't have the caps, trying to get the bowden cables to stay in the handle is a nightmare. Not to mention the cavity where the handle mounts is pretty small too.

Caps should be available at any dealer, bushing only comes with new handle...

I can even imaging doing it without the caps, yikes, try grabbing cables with chopsticks :)

That metal tab where the barrel slides through is plastic on new handles which I can't imagine lasting long. Just push out the aluminum pivot pin and install the old metal tabbed handle in the new case
