Help!! Subframe bushings broke off in car!

As the title states. Got the subframe out but the tops the aluminum sleeves in both bushings broke off in the mounting holes. Anybody have a trick to getting these out?

I also pushed both subframe bolts up into the body not knowing that cabrios are not accessible from under the rear seat. Can I get to these through the quarters if I pull the rear cards. Thanks for the help in advance!!

Someone's got to have been through this before.

Oh yeah I just went through this. Try the lag bolt method. If that fails, which it did in my case, you will need an air chisel. It's a huge pain in the ass, especially in a vert.

I used a ton on anti-size on the new ones!

What method did you use to get you in this predicament?

^ I just dropped the subframe and where the inner sleeves of the busings go into the body is where they broke. Guessing it's just a tight fit and the aluminum to steel didn't help either. Lag bolt method didn't work for me. I ended up drilling and chiseling them out. It was a pita but I got them and will be finishing up the wheel bearings tonight or tomorrow. Looks like I can access the bolts that I pushed up out of the way once I get the rear cards pulled.

Yup you can get to them. You just can't hammer anything down onto them because of the bodywork

                `

I had thesame issue when i pulled my subframe. Ended up drilling it out luckily the metal was relatively soft.

This sentence caught my eye...so on cabriolets, you can't remove the rear seat, then push the large sub-frame mounting bolts up through the floor board like you can with the coupes and sedans? I did not know this...Please confirm.

^ you can push them up they just come up into the quarters so you need to remove the whole rear seat, and rear door cards to get to them. There is a acces hole I could barely fit my hand in to get the bolts retrieved and back in their place. I'm 5'7" and 125lbs so if you're a big guy you might have a rough time.

I can't find the original post but I successfully used the lag bolt method on my vert. The trick is you have to buy a 3 or 4 foot steel rod from Lowes and put a bend in it. That way you can just get it down in the hole from the top. Lag bolt screwed into the bushing and several whacks from a BFH and you are golden.
