Before i found my E30, i used to look at a bunch of crappy sites, but then found a few really great sources. Then i checked all of those good ones daily until the perfect E30 came along. The car I purchased, I emailed the seller THE DAY it was posted, and was ready to buy it two days later if he was free that weekend. Bottom line, if you are looking for an E30, here are places to look:
Great Places:
The Roundel - BMWCCA magazine, the classifieds yield very mint (read very expensive E30s)
http://www.bmwcca.org/aboutCCA/regio...pterList.shtml BMWCCA local chapters. Members post their cars for sale on the classifieds. Generally, club members take good care of their cars and sell them for reasonable prices. Check all the local regions surrounding you, not just the closest.
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/classifieds.asp A great tuning shop in Maryland that hosts a free classifieds section for BMW Cars and Parts. Majority of the bimmers are lightly tuned and modified.
http://www.cars.com - A website that allows searches through many, many cars for sale. Most are ads pulled from newspapers, including your local classifieds. Good E30s were a rare find in my newspaper, but regionwide, there were a fair amount of nice E30s.
http://www.roadfly.org/bmw/classifieds/cars/ - A great BMW community site, with nice classifieds. You can find E30s ranging from parts cars to clean ones to modified track ones.
Forum sites - here, baye30.net, bmwe30.net, bimmerforums, max bimmer, etc etc
Other locations:
And finally, last resort:
http://www.ebaymotors.com - My friend got a good deal on a nice Audi, but it was from a dealer and I was skeptical the entire time.
If you found other good places to find good E30s, reply with them. E30s may be common to spot sometimes, but unfortunately they will be 318s or etas......
I had to be patient when looking for a Black or Red only E30, with Black interior, 325iS only, and in 5 speed. The more conditions you set for your car, the tougher the hunt will be. But also, the stricter your screen possible cars, the happy you'll be in the long run!
