I guess because British people pronounce some words differently than Americans do they are ignorant? Or maybe Americans are ignorant? Or maybe Australians are because they pronounce things differently?

dude, just because you pronounced it eee-tee-ay doesn't give you the right to take it on someone who pronounces it right.

I know it has been covered, but I have heard a number of people from other countrys (Germans, Sweeds, Fins,...) pronounce Bistein "Bilsh-tain" and not "Bil-steen,"

                  Is it really Bil-steen?

Giubo is a contraction of "Giunti Boschi" (Italian for "Boschi Joints")

                    The proper pronunciation is: 'Gee-Yu-Bow'

Thank you to whoever started this thread.

Ate and Eta are words, not seperate letter ackronyms.

                        Ah-tay and Ay-tuh.

ATE is an abreviation for Alfred Teves, the guy who originally started the company, its surposed to be pronounced as if it was his initials, AT.

no dude, sorry, but you are wrong. Accents aside, the e in the cars stands for ETA, the letter of the greek alphabet (in this case, a simple "e" utilised in engineering to denote efficiency).

The correct way to pronounce it is "ee", like as in you were saying meet. Its not surposed to be pronounced as if it was a word like eh-tah, and its definately not surposed to be broken up into seperate letters, they arent initials that stand for anything.

e = Hn (Eta) = ee. eta is the name of the letter in the alphabet, not how it is represented (Hn) nor how it is surposed to be pronounced (ee). Pretty much all of you are wrong :)

In the end, who gives a toss? most normal people can get past the "incorrect" pronunciation of things because they still understand what you were talking about all the same. Seriously, words are meant to convey something, some people with nothing better to do take this way out of context.

You'd better call Ate and tell them that then because whenever I order wholesale it's always said as a word.

what word? ATE? hah.. "hello, id like a brake booster" yes we had one in stock but im affraid someone ate it.

The present Continental Teves AG & Co. oHG was founded by Alfred Teves in Frankfurt in 1906 under the name Alfred Teves GmbH. In 1967 the US corporation ITT Industries Inc. took over the company and in 1998 it changed hands again to become part of Continental AG, where it is part of the Continental Automotive Systems (CAS) division
well damn, if he didnt just go and name the corporation after himself like i said ...
