    and the point goes to Madahtter for the win!

    Check here for Greek pronunciation guide: http://www.ibiblio.org/koine/greek/l...html#footnote1

    eta = sounds like "hey", so it would be pronounced ay-tuh. Now, is this REALLY that important? I understand Por-sha vs. Porsh, but getting into ay vs. eh vs. ee is just getting too ridiculous. It really does come down to where you live and the dialect. Meh, I'm gonna let you guys hash the rest of this thread out on your own.

      v

      Azev = AH-zev
      Eibach = EYE-bock

      Not knowing pronunciations of words is common for autodidactic people, because most knowledge is gained from reading alone.

            Would it be worthless to start a thread that explains not pronunciations, but acronyms as well, such as CAB's for Control Arm Bushings, etc.

              Is it really Bil-steen?
              ei makes an "eye" sound so its bilstein, like rammstein

                so Porsche is really POUR-SHA? If so I have been saying it wrong for years. :(
                '89 "is" = M technic II build mode.

                              I skimmed through but I don't think this has been mentioned, it's the most rampant, spelling too - guibo. It's giubo, and it's not even what our cars have (which is a flex disc). There's no such thing as a guibo in any BMW parts catalogues.
