How to replicate HELLA's smoked ellipsoid technique:

Do I really need to pull the projector out of the housing? the screws that hold it in on my US ellipsoids are not exactly normal, I have no clue what type of tool I need to take them out, they look almost like the one way fasteners people use when they want something to be tamper proof.

Great write-up, thanks! What technique would you recommend for cleaning up the lenses? Just windex and hope for the best or would it be feasible to polish out some of the exterior pitting without it looking like ass?

Yeah, they look every bit the real deal.

I will confess though... the last headlight I glued the lense back on (passenger low beam) I did a lousy job. I'll chock it up to being tired... but it poured all day long yesterday and when I left work and got out to the car I found that one full of fog.

oops... I'll pull the lense back off this weekend and do it again.
